VOOPOO ARGUS G3 Review: Pocket Power with a Flavor Punch

First Impressions

When the ARGUS G3 arrived, I didn’t expect much. Another sleek pod claiming wild things like "5-day battery" and "luxury watch-grade" finishes? Color me skeptical. But when I opened it up, I had to admit—it was well put together. The Aurora Purple model looked flashy (okay, pink), but the build felt solid, and the pod clicked in with that satisfying magnetic snap. I loaded up the 0.7-ohm pod with a mango salt, took a draw, and my eyebrow went up. Surprisingly full, rich flavor. Hmm. Maybe VOOPOO was onto something here.

Design & Build Quality

The G3 is a stick-style pod system—light, pocketable, and curved in all the right places. Zinc alloy body, smooth matte finish, and a bright 0.96-inch color screen that’s readable even in direct light. The screen has customizable themes, which is more fun than functional, but still a nice touch. The button on the side handles settings, not firing, and while it’s clicky and responsive, mine had a slight rattle when shaken. Nothing serious, just a minor nitpick. Otherwise, the pod fit is tight, the juice window is clear, and the overall build is solid. Not revolutionary, but definitely refined.

Performance

Flavor Quality

VOOPOO’s new iCOSM pods really surprised me. The 0.7-ohm pod delivers exceptional MTL flavor—warm, full, and layered. My mango salt came through clean and punchy. Even after 20ml of use, flavor was holding strong. The 0.4-ohm pod, meant for RDL, puts out more vapor and performs great with higher-VG juice. It’s solid, just not quite as vivid in flavor. Still, for a pod system, both are well above average.

Draw & Airflow

The airflow slider gives you tight MTL to very restricted DTL. Fully closed on the 0.7 pod, it’s proper MTL. Fully open on the 0.4, it’s a snug RDL. Auto-draw activation works flawlessly—no lag, no misfires. This thing just works, whether you sip it gently or pull harder.

Coil & Pod Performance

Pod longevity is excellent. The coils lasted over two weeks with no dry hits, no drop in flavor. The "Golden Cotton" wicking isn’t just a buzzword—it actually holds up. Leaking? None. Condensation? Barely any. Filling is through a side plug you don’t need to remove the pod for. It’s not the fastest fill due to trapped air bubbles, but it’s clean. Bonus points for being compatible with older Argus pods.

Battery Life

The 1500mAh battery is generous for a pod this size. I got 1.5 to 2 days of solid use at moderate wattage. Not five days, but still better than most. The best part? Charging is lightning fast. USB-C at 2A topped it off in under 40 minutes.

User Experience

The single-button interface has a short learning curve—1 click to wake, 3 to adjust wattage, 5 for the menu—but once you get the rhythm, it’s intuitive. Smart wattage caps your output based on coil resistance, which saves beginners from themselves. Themes are purely cosmetic, but fun. The device is clean, comfortable to carry, and incredibly low maintenance. The puff counter, stealth mode, and clear juice visibility all show attention to detail.

It’s not the most beginner-proof device (you’ll want to glance at the quick-start guide), but it’s far from complicated. Experienced vapers will appreciate the polish. And honestly, after a week of use, it became second nature.

Final Thoughts

The ARGUS G3 won me over. It’s compact, flavorful, and fast-charging. The 0.7-ohm pod is the star here, delivering flavor that rivals much bigger setups. Sure, the single-button system takes a minute to learn and filling can be slow, but none of that overshadows what this pod does right. For anyone wanting a stylish daily vape with smart features and legit performance, the G3 delivers. It might not be a showstopper, but it’s a workhorse—and a very polished one at that.

Pros:

  • Excellent flavor from the 0.7-ohm pod
  • Fast 2A charging (under 40 minutes)
  • Smart wattage prevents coil burnout
  • Clean operation (no leaking or gurgling)
  • Backward compatible with older Argus pods
  • Adjustable airflow for MTL to tight RDL
  • Bright screen with theme options
  • Comfortable, sturdy design

Cons:

  • Slight button rattle
  • Filling slowly can be fiddly
  • Single-button interface may confuse some at first
